Armora is the modacrylic fiber developed by Aksa; used in protective garments, upholstery & soft furnishings (textiles for bedding, mattresses, drapes), and other industrial applications (e.g. car batteries).
Characteristics of Armora
- Inherently flame retardant
- Self-extinguishing & excellent charring
- Soft touch
- Easy to blend with natural and synthetic fibers
- Easy to process
- Easy to dye
- Resistant to acids and alkalis
Inherent Flame Retardancy
Armora imparts its flame retardancy (FR) to flammable fibers in blends, and improves the overall FR performance of the fabric.
Since its FR property is inherent, it does not deteriorate after repeated washing cycles and does not require any treatments.
Self-Extinguishing & Excellent Charring
Once the flame source is removed, Armora extinguishes and a charred barrier remains that prevents the flame spread.
No melting,
No dripping,
No sticking to the skin.
Superior Comfort
Armora enables you to find a balance between protection and comfort with its natural characteristics of softness.
