Aksa Akrilik Chemical Industry Inc., a subsidiary of Akkök Holding, one of Turkey's long-established industrial groups, was founded in Yalova in 1968 to meet Turkey's acrylic fiber needs and began production in 1971 with a capacity of 5,000 tons/year.

Over the years, Aksa has become the world's largest acrylic fiber producer through its investments and innovations. Today, it is a global company with nearly 300 customers in more than 50 countries across 5 continents.
