Mithra

Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Fiber

Mithra, developed by Aksa Akrilik, is a first in Turkey in the production of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber and unidirectional (UD) ballistic fabric. Standing out with its domestic and high-performance structure, Mithra is designed to provide strategic solutions in many critical areas, primarily the defense industry.

With its high strength, lightness, and environmental resistance, Mithra offers a wide range of applications from bulletproof vests to armored vehicle panels, from heavy-duty ropes to ballistic composite systems. With its structure that is up to 15 times stronger than steel and up to 10 times lighter, Mithra plays a pioneering role in next-generation protection technologies.

The investment, whose foundations were laid in 2024, transforms Aksa Akrilik's years of chemistry and fiber production experience into a strategic production power for the defense industry. The production line, which will initially operate with an annual capacity of 250 tons, is planned to be gradually increased to 500 tons/year.

With the Mithra investment, Aksa Akrilik is no longer just a raw material producer; it is a technology partner offering integrated solutions to end-product manufacturers. At the same time, with integrated ballistic fabric production, it can offer both fiber and final textile solutions under the same roof.
